 Women that play instraments...
Aren't they beautiful? I mean some can be damn ugly, but at the same time it's pretty cool...
Any thoughts?

Hmmm when a girl is cute and smart the ability to play an instrument (not instrament ) is just a bonus
If were at this topic I found a Death metal band with a nice girl on vocals here it is

and a lot of male musicians can be damn ugly too
but anyway.
I think a lady on piano is lovely
an elegant instrument played by an elegant musician just looks and sounds right.

women know truely how to play instruments such as bass/guitar. because to them its an extension of their souls. but most men play like its an extension of their penis. This is why females will always be better musicians.

The comment garykeller15 gave is one of the best compliments I have ever heard towards female musicians. Bravo!
As a female musician a lot of people have said to me "oh you play guitar that's really hot" but I have also heard tongue in cheek crappy comments such as "oh a girl in the band, nice touch...."
So I have heard it all. Also going into a guitar store, especially the big chains, is a challenge. They either speak to me in a condecending manner or they don't speak to me at all, completely ignoring me.
That's why I usually support the independent musicial instrument stores. They are much more friendly and almost never speak to me in a bad way.
Also I feel women are not encouraged enough to be rock musicians. SO...if anyone here has a young impressionable female mind in their family, BUY THEM A GUITAR!
But then again that is just MY humble opinion...

thank you garykeller15!!! I think that really is true too. I've asked some men why they play guitar or why they're in a band and the most common answer is "to get girls" which I really don't understand. (I also don't understand why a lot of women like guys in bands unless she's a musician herself. I like guys in bands because we have something in common.) music should be made because of the music and for the person's love for the music, nothing else. that's my opinion anyway.

i like to add what i said earlier most guys also tend to have huge egos which makes them a pain in the ass to deal with. Especially if they are guitar players. So this is why when i decide to put together a band, i will only audition female guitarists. i rather have members who care more for the music being played than how cool they look on stage.

thats cool...not everyone is stroking their ego constantly...and i never thought of my guitar as an extension of my dick....i dont have that problem in the slightest.....a guitar is my instrument that i put all of my emotions threw...and i don't do it to get girls.....but its not a bad perk....i play because i have a good time......though there are not many good female players that i have met...in metal anyways...but very good in other types of music....the few i have met...are real head cases....

I think most musicians in general are "head cases" I guess it comes from being an emotional person. And IMO one should not be a musician unless they are trying to portray some type of honest emotion.
As for women not being good metal guitarists, there used to be a band called Drain STH from Sweden and they were an all girl metal band, the guitarist was pretty damn good. And of course Lita Ford in her day was fantastic.

I don't think exactly made fun of, but some people used to call me a lesbian because I like mostly female fronted bands, and I am not gay so that was just really weird but I wasn't insulted or anything because it was just ignorance on people's parts.
I guess they couldn't understand why I chose to prefer female voices to male ones. I guess maybe it's because I chose the bands I like by the way their music makes me feel not by the way the people look in the band or my sexual attraction to them. But that's a whole other subject entirely...

yeah, i always get crap in music stores too... either ignored or really condescending toward me.
me "i'd like to try that US strat over there, what kind of pickups are in that one?"
shop assistant [blank stare] ".... you should try this one, it's pink!"
(ok that's a dramatisation, but you get the idea)
and then there's the statements like "you play really well..... FOR A GIRL"
