Post Why is my flange pedal noisy even when switched off?
I have an older DOD FX70 Stereo Flanger pedal that has been tried and true in my rig for years now. Recently it has developed a horrible noise like "hissing wind" blowing through my amp even when switched off! Of course I've tried putting in new batteries, checking cables, blowing out the inputs, ect. but can't figure it out. I know what order to put my effects in and all that as well. Anyone have an idea? Maybe it's just had it?

make sure you are using shielded cables to connect it. Try running it on battery.

how are you powering your rig?

I already use batteries for all my pedals, I'm powering my rig with a standard power cable out of my 100 watt Marshall 8100 head. Removing the Flange pedal from my pedal line-up removes the noise. But get this, so I replaced the flange pedal with a brand new DOD chorus pedal ( as I only really used the flange as a chorusy thing anyway) and low and behold it does the same thing, just not as bad! I'll look into using sheilded cables.
