blues, and minor/major pentatonic.

i also like to mix blues and dorian scales, adds some spice to my solos, and some killer runs/ triplet hammer-ons.

Those are the main scales that i use

well, im mostly major and minor pentatonic... or str8 major and minor, blues scale is great although lately ive been expiramenting with the country scale, which is the major pent with an added minor 3rd... or you could look at it as the blues scale of the relative minor.... gives a good twangy country ambiguity to the conventional pentatonic tone... also i like to add a dorian note here and there to the minor pent... i havent quite gotten into modes as much as i should... but i like mixolydian, dorian, and locrian is just badass... a scale that starts with a half step is just different haha.

scales i need to start learning more about would be diminished, and modes... i could play the notes in any mode right now just because if how they relate to the major scale, but i need to work on phrasing and accentuating the feel of each individual mode

Gypsy scale
phrygian mode
major/minor harmonic
blues scales
Mixolydian
the arab scale which i cant remember the name of(which is my favorite)

those are the basic shred scales

i found that using the same scale, but in different keys make a big sound difference...like using a C# Minor scale will give you a dirtier more punkish kind of tone while something lets say...E minor will give you more of a diluted soft tone
