My solo goes from 1:56 - 2:29. From there Steve takes a stab at it.
We ain't crunch-grind-industrial-molten-steel-metal-eating-shredders. God bless those of you who are.
We just play the Blues!
It all went down as a single take recorded through a Mackie ONYX board to an Apple running Garage Band.
We recorded 8 tracks at the same time. I recommend that method to anyone who can get away with it. It is the best way to capture the energy of the entire band IMHO.
I played a 79' LP custom into an OLD DOD Bi-fet Preamp > an OLD DOD Digital Delay > a Marshall JMP-1 tube preamp > Mackie board.
My solo has some old-school dirt but my rythms are all clean.
Steve played a Custom Shop Strat into a Marshall JCM 800 50 watt combo and a Peavey 50 watt classic head. The Jcm 800 has two 25 watt Celestions. One for the Marshall, the other for the Peavey. He miked both speakers with SM 57's and assigned them to seperate channels in Garage Band.
The bass was an old Fender P-bass. He went through a bass pre-amp to the board but I can't recall which model he used.
The drums are my only beef. Due to time constraints we had to work fast. Not my favorite way to work, but what ya gonna do? He played a Yamaha digital kit and, well, not the best product to work with IMHO. The high hat drives me nuts, but what has been done is done.
Our singer sang through a SM58 and away we went.
This is a rough mix with marginal video added (this is nowhere near a finished product folks) so I could put it on Youtube. I hope y'all enjoy it.
