Are you talking about Washington state? I live in north Seattle and we got 5 inches last night, within a matter of a couple of hours. And there is no day off. When I lived on the other side of the state in Spokane there was always a bunch of snow and we never got the day off. 1/4 of an inch? Noone pays attention to that.

Here in Texas, at least in Houston, if it snowed and put 1/16" of snow on the ground, we'd all freak out and shut the city down. There'd also be 16-buhzillion car accidents because no one here (except me, naturally ) can drive worth a damn!

Isn't Vancouver and Seattle next to eachother in the northern part of the state?

Actually Vancouver is just this side of the border from Portland, about 2.5 - 3 hours by car.
Come to think of it, Seattle is about halfway between Vancouver, Washington and Vancouver, BC.

Didn't know there was a U.S side to Vancouver. Two things I've learned today.

in the past week we've got two feet, and today in an hour we've got another five inches, and it's supposed to continue to snow!

You're in Salt Lake City, right? I suppose all that snow just adds to the list of why that city sucks. Ok, I'll be fair, all of Utah sucks.

i grew up thinking utah sucked, but it doesn't, there are twice as many young girls as other states!! and mormons breed beautiful women! and variety is good, hot summers, snowy winters, variety is key to a good life!
but yes, a lot of things about utah suck....i guess, could you tell me why you think it sucks?
plus i snowboard, so i'm a bit biased i suppose.

Because there's nothing there. Just hours and hours and hours of driving through absolutely nothing.
Although southeastern Utah sure is scenic (Zion, Bryce, etc.).
