Slide Guitar

I just got a slide for christmas an i have no clue how to play it? Does anyone have any tips/advice?

To use it you use the finger behind the slide to mute the strings and you can use it with the scales you know. This is a very general description

listen to some old blues tunes, and some new ones. BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Son House, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Jeff Healey, Robert Johnson, many others.

lil ed was a great blues slide player he was from Chicago don't know if he is still alive or not
