mmm, agreed... but i can see how some people would like that. that would be a huge benefit for pro players that don't have a pedal board on stage with a tuner. they just switch a knob and go to town without having their tech hand them a guitar and tune the previous one again

i get the news letter from Gibson's web-site so i've seen that, seem like a cool idea but i don't see it really taking off. you never know though, we might all eventually be buying guitars that tune themselves

honestly, i think its cool, but incredibly unnecessary unless you do music full time, don't have a stage tech, and are dumb enough to gig without a stage tuner (unless you use alot of different tunings). HOWEVER, as compared to Fender's VG-Strat the Gibson system wins hands down. The VG-Strat just produces the sounds of the different tunings, whereas the Gibson technology actually gives you the tunings. Either way though, i'm not in any hurry to dish out the cash for either of these, when i have a perfectly good Boss TU-2 (best stage tuner you can get IMO)

i didn't even own a tuner for the longest time until my singer bought me a little Korg CA-30, i used to just tune to my keyboard.
i suppose if you have the money it might be worthwhile, especially if you have to go between different tunings on stage.

thats the only reason i could think of, but if you can't afford acouple guitars to use for different tunings anyway, you probably wouldn't be able to afford the Gibson

it seems like a neat gimmick..... i wonder how the gizmo will hold up over time.
or how much it will cost to fix it when it breaks !
i think guitars are getting to be like automobiles......WAY too many bull shit features that you dont need.
.....i guess the next innovative guitar feature will be a PRS with a fold down rear seat....maybe a flex fuel Ibanez with dual DVD players ????
mmmmmwhats after that?? remote keyless solos ??? LOL !!!!!

hahahaha......oh man.....thats funny.
what ever happend to GUITARS...
you know, you used to take some nice tone woods...good pickups...toss in some frets...a set of tunning machines, a bridge and tailpiece.....add a musician who actually tunes and plays his instrument , and you really had something !
we may live in a computerized technological world.....but i still like things simple....call me an old fart !
