Has anyone any idea what the rubbers(washers) are between the strings in the picture?

no, but i imagine you can buy some at homedepot or other places, and the'll do the same thing. there's even peices rubber in a kit of erector set. i use those in the hole of my floyd where the bar goes. that way when you tighten the bar down it stays in one place unless i move it. pretty cool trick!
