Post Share your rack...
How many on here use a rack and what do you use it for?

Just wondering what's the general feeling towards racks on this forum.

Myself, I love the lidea of having everything in the one box so you can't kick anything and lose your settings.

yes i have a rack and i also have my toy boxes on the floor....the rack has way to many options and only push buttons to make the changes...this can lead to frustration getting exactly what you want ....my rack consist of....
nady 201 wireless
Art tube limiter/compressor
digitech legend 21 pro...here is my biggest complaint (getting all volumes to match)..
BBE 462 (when not in the mix rack)
stereo out to 2 peavey solo special 130 amps @ 2 (volume)

i also use the same system for bass and have programed the legend for using my bass on it and out to a 2 X 15' and 4 X 12" cabs and if room is tight the bass goes into its own rig bass head and 2 X 15"

my rack is prety simple.
i have an ART power station (it looks cool, and keeps the power monitored)
my signal goes into a marshall 9001 tube preamp.
i have an ART SGE machII in the effects loop of the marshall.
i run the marshall into a BGW power amp , and into 2 marshall 1960 cabinets.

this is a super simple rig...that works great.

My guitar rack has but two components.
1) Korg tuner (with MUTE footswitch - MUST HAVE for me)
2) Marshall JMP-1 tube pre-amp. I've used the LINE6 stuff. I think it is better suited for recording, but that's just me.

That's all. I do a lot of gigs where I need to go direct and it has worked very well for me.
I am a basket case about effects and use what ever stomp-box(es) fits the bill for that gig.

I see more and more Bass players going to rack-mounted gear in order to simplify their load-in and load-out. I play with one guy who has a power conditioner, a Fender tuner, a Sans Amp and a ba-zillion watt Carvin bass head in his.

Rawk-on.

update : i replaced the BGW solid state 500w power amp with a Marshall 9100 dual 50 watt monobloc tube power amp.

that was a NICE tone upgrade ... much more dynamic and responsive.

got another update ...
i added a Sabine RT700 tuner , and a Peavey Tubefex preamp processor to the mix.
the Tubefex runs one side of the Marshall 9001 , and the Marshall 9001 runs the other .

or , i can just use one preamp in stereo , or bridge the power amp , ect.

i put my BGW power amp in my acoustic rack ... along with a pair of BBE 386 acoustic preamps .
that gets run into an ART Attack Module stereo speaker cabinet.

with this setup i can go mono , dual mono , or have a friend plug their guitar in and play along.

that pretty much covers my rack gear.
