welcome 8 )

I would suggest Electro Harmonix. Either the Big Muff or Metal Muff, both are fabulous for rock/metal. The Big Muff is more of a Fuzz sound than the Metal Muff however.

Also I have a Boss MD2 Mega Distortion that I can get an fabulous sound feeding it through my marshall.

I believe you will be happy with any of the three, I know I am. I have played with alot, but can't seem to get the feel that I do out of these. However effects are just like guitars, it's all personal preference, you won't really know until you go and play on them yourself. So go try some out 8 D

not sure if you've gotten one already, but i'd check out the Visual Sounds V2 Jekyll and Hyde.

check out their product demos and the pedal shootout videos. Very helpful.
tune low, play hard, and floor it!!!

Try a bunch. There are so many out there. The distortion factory is a good pedal because it cops the sound of several, but if you just want one sound it might be better to get a simpler pedal.

Agreed. I was something of a distortion/overdrive pedal junkie for a while. It was fun trying & collecting all types of dirt boxes. My all-time favorites: the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver, and the Fulltone OCD.

My current fave is a Boss DS-1 that I modded. My own cajun-flavored tweak on the Keeley mod. I'm using computer-grade tantalum caps in certain places to tighten the response of the low end. I have a bunch though. I guess you can't have too many dirt boxes, lol.

Well put R.B. It's just hard figuring out how to get them all on a pedalboard. I still use a Boss GT-8 to simplify things, but the better tone is with the pedals.

I'm a fan of a lot of different tones, so I just bring my favorite 2 or 3 pedals with me. The favorites change from time to time, but I don't think I have been unhappy with my tone for a long time. My playing, on the other hand...
