IMO one of the best octaver is that new Boss but I like sound of cheap Behringer's octaver :)

Yes, Boss OC-2 is good but OC-1 is good too. I didn't play with Behringer and I won't do this. I would be afraid about it's casing...

You could always ebay a broken Boss pedal and do a transplant. I've seen them go as low as $.99 US plus $5 for shipping.

i definetly dig the boss oc-2, very versatile and good quality build that boss puts out, definetly a good choice for octavers

yeah, i want a digitech whammy soooo bad.... but for an octave up or down effect... the danelectro ones are pretty good i think they are the chili dog and french fries? dano shit is pretty decent bang for the buck usually.

I've only played around with a boss one in a store.... was pretty fun to play with, but I'm not sure if I could find a use for it in songs...

late reply to the post, but i have the EHX Micro-POG and LOVE IT!!! i've tried the whammy, and thats fun for stuff, but i just wanted a basic simple octave up and octave down effect, and the Micro-POG gives me that. 3 Knobs: Dry Signal, Octave Up, Octave Down... can be blended together or used solely.

One of my favorite settings is Dry signal all the way up, Octave up at about 80% and Octave down at about 20%, and you get a sweet 12-string effect (sounds amazing with the piezo bridge on my schecter)
tune low, play hard, and floor it!!!

I have a Boss OC2 octaver, and I am absolutely satisfied with the way it sounds. I've tried the OC3 also, but that one seemed to have a bit of delay between the processed signal and dry signal... maybe the oc3 is a digital octaver as oppossed to analog oc2...
