i would back the screws out about half way ....loosen the strings , and just start from scratch.
just keep an eye on how level the bridge is as you tune the guitar....it is all a balancing act between STRING tension and SPRING tension.
fiddle with the claw screws as you tune to keep the bridge level...its a back and forth adjusting as you go pain in the butt , but once you get the feel for it ....it gets easy.
this is what the so called tech should have done.
sorry if i wasnt clear before....its been a long day
meh. i've done that before. not since getting it fixed. but doing this was what caused trouble in the first place. i was doing that and the screws stripped....
bummer. time to get out the toothpicks and glue.
cut a bunch of round toothpicks in half and cover them in wood glue. cram as many into the holes for the claw screws as possible. Let it dry, clip off the excess and sand it flat. Re-insert your screws (might wanna make a starter hole first).
well, no. that's been fixed. that's why it was in teh shop in the first place. to have that fixed. but now i'm REALLY wary of trying it again...
