totally lost here dude,The arrow is pointing to areas of the string that the pick should not be making contact with,And pick and string wear are just part of playing,If your picks are wearing down too fast for your liking unload the Dunlop's as all dunlop stuff sucks it,And pick yourself up a tin of the Snarling Dogs brain picks.they last forever.

1) Use a lighter pick.
2) Use heavier strings.
3) Accept the fact that you play like an animal and just get on with it.

I've played on guitar for a long time and this is the first time that I've got this kind of problem. Before I broke the string, I had used a tapping technique with pick(I tried to do it like Satriani;p), maybe it caused a fracture.

yeah that happens from playing rock music.
you have two options at this point, you can get thinner picks or you can switch to being a fingerpicking classical guitar player.

it looks like you just broke a string...whats the big deal?
it happens to everyone once in a while.
dont worry about your pick....that shouldnt be an issue.
dunlop makes all types of great picks for every style.
pay NO attention to anybody telling you your dunlop pick is the problem....they dont have a clue.
i have used dunlop 2mm picks for 20 years with no string breakage issues.
make sure you have no burrs at the bridge or nut...if you have a non locking nut , nut sauce is a great thing.
you dont have to use heavy strings either.....i use dean markley SLP 9's (along with my super thick 2mm picks),and havent broken a string in years.
if your equiptment is in proper working order , and your strings are not old and dead...and you are not unreasonably brutal with your picking you shouldnt have a lot of string breakage problems.
just remember....strings break for a reason....eliminate those reasons, and your problem will go away.

its not the pick I use jazz 3's and haven't broke a sting picking in about 15 years. it kind of looks like the string was a little old but that doesn't mean to much either cause I don't change my string unless they get real ugly looking...lol

Use nylon picks. They don't break, or shred, or slip.
Try the Brain picks (mentioned above as Snarlin' Dog)
or Dunlop nylon picks
Or Herco nylon picks. (They have Gold/light, and Silver/Medium)
I only use nylon picks, I play metal, and I'm a lead player. I also use .50 or less. Herco is my pick of choice, but I have the Brain, and Dunlop nylon picks in my guitarist repair kit.
Also if you're having a string problem, try either the nut sauce (also mentioned above) or GHS nut lube.
I like to use DR strings too. I seem to have the least amount of problems with breakage with DRs than opposed to other types of strings I've used in the past.
Good luck.

i havent changed strings on my les paul jr i over 2 years, and they are fine. I use some pick i bought i target YES TARGET! i think they were lionel or somehting like that. I play every day on if for at least 2 hours. Ive finally used all my heavies and most of my mediums are screwd so im using light for fast runs and arpeggios.x thats all i play. I havent broke a string ever. I think i pick pretty hard but compared tp the punk posers at my school i dont.

ok, what im seeing are fret marks on your string not pick wear.
dunlops are great pick. the material is forgiving which is what gives it its warm tone and is less noisy than other brands. this is why they wear down also. its a give and take kind of a deal. picks are disposable. by em 12 at a time kepp them in a container in your gig bag or case and forget about it.
