Ha! I'm sure this was (is?) a Boss effect offered on other Boss multi-FX processors, but there is this effect called a "humanizer" on my GT-5 which basically uses filters to create "vowel-like" sounds with your guitar. Kinda like a poor-man's vocoder or talk box (except you can't speak into it). Anyway, I always thought it was an interesting effect, but also a very eclectic/unusable one.

Today while listening to Pandora.com, I hear a track called "Water" by a band called "Ohgr", and the guitarist was using it! ROFL! It sounded great! It turns out that these guys are of "Skinny Puppy" fame and cut this album back in 2001. SHows you how far behind the times I am! LOL.
