Post OLP - how are they?
I searched a found some info, seem to get pretty decent reviews for their price. But one continuous them i've noticed is the poor tuning stability and the weird trem. I'm mainly interested in the petrucci model. Just looking for a cheap throw around metal guitar, probably will replace the pu's.

thoughts?

i have only played one OLP ....one my friends bought one of the Eddie Van Halen copies , and after a lot of setup work, and filing the fret ends..... its now OK at best.
if the others are built like the one i played , then they are cheap crap.
you get what you pay for.

be careful what you buy.

Chuck speaks of mine, its the MM1 FR. It is complete crap. Hours of setup, neck adjustment, fret filing and polishing and its still not 100%. Its just not high enough quality. Also the pups are the worst I've ever heard. It has one thing going for it. It is beautiful ...from a distance. I would not buy another.

It is my hope and dream to one day convince Chuck its a dream machine, the bees knees, a golden god, the apple of his eye and that he must have it. At which time he falls into my evil plan I will deny him the opportunity to purchase it. (Friends don't let friends buy crap guitars.)

Just to add, I saw a band play with one of these recently, and I thought it did sound nice, though I can't speak for the feel of them as I never played it. Do they have higher end models that are nicer, or do they stick to the low/mid range stuff?
