Post Okay this is the 4th place I've tried
I have an LTD Kh-202, with the licensed floyd system. Now I have a problem with the pressure pad screw. The inside is stripped where you use the alan-key to unlock it, and the outside is stripped. I've tried wrenches, and vise-grips, everything, and I'm pissed because I need to change a string. So anyhelp anybody has would be appreciated

this is odd.
i would think a good pair of vice grips with the proper jaw design should remove the screw .

i am wondering.....how tight did you clamp the string?
lock nuts dont need a ton of torque.
if you are striping out the allen head screws, either you are using the wrong wrench...or too much force.

good luck getting that screw out .

wow, i've never heard of that problem before.

the parts aren't expensive, howerver you get that thing loose, make sure you replace the stripped part, so you don't have that problem again.

A similar thing happened to the Shecter Locking nut system that I put on my Strat... I ended up stripping the hole for the alan wrench but fortunate there was enough of the screw sticking up that I could file two sides of the screw to flatten it out enough so that a pair of needle-nose pliers could get a grip on it... managed to ultimately get that screw out and have since replaced those screws with Floyd Rose type locking nut screws.

Does the alan wrench screw come all the way out? You could get a replacement piece and then sacrifice and alan wrench. Use superglue or cement or whatever the strongest binging glue you can find to glue the alan wrench to the rounded bolt (CAREFULLY DONT GET THAT ANYWHERE ELSE). Once it dries you should be able to unscrew it. Be careful though, because chances are you'll only have one try.

I would agree with beunito.
Glue or Cement would be the one... The part itself and an allen key aren't to hard to get a hold of... in my experience if a guitar shop has more than one they literally give them away.

The same thing happened with my Ibanez S I got it sorted then sold the bastard, I stick to hard tails mostly now.
