 Not another NOOOBZOOORRR
alright ive played acoustic guitar maybe 2-3 months now... maybe a month or two also cant quite remember. ANDDD for christmas my big thing this year will be an electric guitar. NOW, i only need a 10 watt amp because fo rhte most part ill be using a headphone jack. Ive had my eyes set on an Epiphone G-310 for a while now. (EBONY FTW) BUt i need your guy's help on necassary accesories (10 bucks says "santa" already had his "eleves" "build" these guitar and amplifier) like is there a way to get guitar riffs onto my comp and save them as mp3's. like a cord goes from the guitar or amp tot eh computer? perhaps strings and picks basics you know!

Check out the Boss Micro-BR Digital Recorder. It may be a better solution for you. It's only about $230.

Might want to attempt better grammar and spelling first...
The only way to directly record into a computer is with FireWire or another interface, then into a recording program. Picks are all preference, I don't recommend starting with thins. Strings, if you're still a beginner stick to 9's or 10's, unless you're already as good as SRV, then throw on some 16's
Good luck.

Its quite easy, you just need one of these:
Its an adapter that goes from a guitar chord to a 2.5mm that should plug straight into your computers mic input.
Goes like this Guitar -> Amp then HeadphoneJack -> Adapter -> Computer mic
Then record what your playing with windows media player or any free software that can.
No need to spend $lots$ on software or firewire, just a 5$ adapter should do it.[/img]

and there's a program called audacity that is free on the internet that you can record with and would be a great thing to learn on and get you into the world of recording?

Wish I knew about that adapter.
I assume the quality of recording/sound isn't quite professional though, playing through a computer this way?

If your point is that this will sound like POOP, you are correct, ma'am. But it will work if one is desperate/poor.

OMG! FLASHBACK!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Damn! I remember my stereo/cassette had like, faux wood paneling and VU meters, and I had to have like, two different adapters to get it to work...I think a 1/8" > dual RCA, and 1/4" to 1/8" as shown above. Set the stereo to the "AUX" input, step on the trusty DS-1, and BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE! ROFL! I was playing this crappy electric I bought from a flea market. Insta-rock-star! Of course, this was back in the early '80s...dang it! I'm ancient!

fair enough, you are probably right about that.
i love to go back and listen to the cassette tapes i made with an analogue Yamaha 4 Track, the sound quality was aweful for the most part, but it's interesting to see how the way you write songs evolved over time.
i've always had good musical ideas as a player, but my way of putting thing together in songs, well lets just say that i've learned a coupe things over time.
