 Need some help
Ok, so I play a Marshall MG100HDFX half-stack and I realized that I'm just not getting that "crunch" and "punch" out of it that I want. I'm wanting to achieve a good metal tone that has that crunch, punch, and sustain to it. I've tried adjusting my EQ's several times to see if I could find something that is a little more towards what I want and I wasn't really satisfied. I even tried using my Boss Metalzone pedal to boost my EQ's and I wasn't really satisfied with that either. I play this amp with my Schecter C-1 Hellraiser, can anyone offer any tips or suggestions?

The last page (page 6) has suggested settings to reach certain sounds.

I guess you could always just buy a pedal or something to get a specific sound if you can't find the sound you like from the stack.

i'm probably going to get yelled at for saying so, because i know Marshall has quite a following, but some Marshalls just aren't made for the heavy distortion and crunch that your looking for. i always played metal, which is why i always looked for the cheaper solid-state stuff, that delivered the distorted tone and crunch i was looking for.

that's true. I switched from a Marshall to a Kustom, which is a lot better.

Are'nt those 100HDFX or whwtever's all digital amps?.as in no tubes??? if so your never gonna get that Marshall grind and Crunch your looking for,While I think those digital ammps are a good idea in terms of all the effects you get packed into them.In the long run the Marshall's are basically just a Line 6 amp in a marshall chassis IMO.All solid state/digi does not a Marshall make.

i agree with The Dude. when i was searching for amps i tried out a few digital line sixes and nothing, not even an actual "crunch" distortion pedal could give me a really tough punch.
