Marshall guitar amp help!

Hey everyone, My first post. Embarassed

I have a Marshall MG12DFX,
with settings of
[Clean]Volume [overdrive]Gain,Volume [EQ]Bass,Contour,Treble.
My question is,
How do i get quiet overdrive.
I need to have overdrive on, so i can hear all my hammerons easier,
but the sound to be quiet as to not annoy my neighbours Razz

At the moment i can only get overdrive when its volume is full.
Help would be great.

turn down the volume and turn up the gain on the overdrive

straitjacket is right that should just about do it.
phones would be an alternative 2 but i wouldent cuz its not metal xD
