 Making pedal patches
Hey
I'm using a planet waves kit to make my own pedal patches. My question is? should i make the patches as small as i can? or it's irrelevant the lenght of the patches ?
Thanks.

Do you mean patch cables? If so, yes, make them as short as you can, but keep in mind where you can comfortably place your pedals without the patch cables getting kinked or twisted.

 one more question
ok ... Thanks.
One more question :
I want to use a distortion pedal and a volume pedal for now. People adviced me to use the volume pedal before the distortion pedal. I used both ways and I noticed that if I use the volume pedal before, the gain level decrases with the sound, but if i use the distortion pedal first, when I decrease the sound, this gain doesn't go away.
I want my distortion to keep the same when I decrease the volume, so .... Is it wrong to keep the distortion pedal first ?

If you mean by "wrong" that the effects pedal police are going to beat down your door and drag you off, well, don't pick out drapes for your cell just yet. The effect you are after isn't conventional, but why should that stop you? If it is doing what you want it to, then it's "right".

If you want to keep the distortion the same when decreasing the volume you have to put the distortion pedal before the volume pedal.
