loud amps... but their tone leaves something to be desired. at least imo

and the effects, don't have a very deep control on them. i know you can get the line 6 pod and get deeper into the effects... but the stuff on the amp isn't very good sounding. that and the low end on the amp isn't best ever either

at $130 it'll do a lot for you.

It'll be loud enough to perform at many venues, it's small enough to use at your house, and it's pretty inexpensive.

you could do a lot worse.

good amps for the price, probably the best modeling amp you can get (imo) but the tone does leave something to be desired.

if you want a good amp with some good effects built into them, look into kustom amps. i own one and it's great and i LOVE the sound. the effects are pretty simple and can be controlled via a foot switch. about as limited as the line 6 but better sound imo. and the tone behind their amps are KILLER... imo at least. check them out

well, maybe not that cheap for a loud one... def can get a good 10 watt for cheaper than that. you can get a 30 watt all tube amp from them for about 300 which isn't bad at all. i just like their amps and would recommend them to anyone

The Spider II 75 watt always surprises me. Although it is awful for recording, and not great for live, if you fiddle with it enough you can get some decent tones.

you will own this amp about 6 months before you start enjoying it, unless you are a beginner, in which you will turn on the phaser and go to insane distortion and pretend you're joe satriani.

I am finding that you can make this amp sound very good clean, and very good when massively heavy, but the crunch is not that good. Of course you dont get the good sounds by just turning the presets. You have to get the right amp model balance the drive, the EQ, and the channel volume as well as the master volume to get anything good.

But this is my fav practice amp.

this is good though, for someone without a lot of money who wants to play a lot of different things

yeah yeah yeah. you're really right. i'm downsizing these amps way to much. they are little monsters if you know how to use them

Ok, So I got the line 6...Not a bad amp- it is loud!!! but it starts to lose it's qualities at 75% volume. I was dissappointed with the presets. I think this amp would be good for beginers because you don't have to mess with pre-amp/gate, depth and rate and other fine settings. This amp sucks for anybody experienced because you can't mess with depth and rate and other fine settings!!!!! If you already have found your sound it seems kinda frustrating to find the tones you like.

The clean tone is awsome, and seems to be made for taking an effects panel. I found that a Wah improved the tone (IMO) and fiddling with the crunch actually gave a good tone for my brand of punk. The blues setting isn't bad, but it is limited. Overall, I think this was a good deal;

I wouldn't pay the $299 listed for this amp but guitar center will usually work w/you.....
