Ya, I've read them and they (Krank) certainly have my attention.

Local music shops may carry them, depending on where you live.

We had some at the Phoenix Guitar Center because they were made right there in Tempe. I have always heard they are good, but I was not impressed. The tone was very thin, which is weird being made for metal and all.

was it so thin that you couldnt adjust the EQ ?
and another thing to keep in mind ...
when you crank up a tube amp ( pun intended ) the tone will thicken up along with the saturating power tubes.
sooo if you were playing the amp at a very low volume , that COULD be the cause of it.

Nope, we had it in the back and turned it up. When turned up really loud it sounded ok, but still not very versatile.

Can't beat that Sherd! Kidding. I know nothing of their amplifiers, but what cab was it being played through? A matching cab? If not, it could certainly be the issue. Even if it was a matching cab it could still be the issue.
