 integrity.
after that first nik you get in your guitar, you think its lost. the guitar you bought is going to fade and slowly lose its beauty. but no. it doesnt lose beauty, it just builds intgrity. agree?

i think i kinda agree with that. each dent has a story behind it, and makes your guitar YOUR guitar, not just another strat or whatever... look at eddie van halen, he massacred like 3 or 4 guitars, cut a hole out of the strat to fit bigger pickups and a new neck, all sorts of shit. Now his frankenstein guitar is held in high regard, replicas are being sold for like $20,000 and everyone wants to get that brown sound. its all about the individuality that it creates.. although im not really one of those people who puts stickers and shit all over his guit.... to each his own.

both of my guitars were bought used from a great guitar shop in hoboken nj.
they both had owners who neglected them, one used to have a broken headstock, but was repaired. It still has nics in the back of it from old 70s belt buckles (its a 1970's Gibson SG Pro) but plays pretty damn well.
My other guitar is an 80's Gibson SG standard, and someone obviously dropped it; somehow ripped the input jack from the body, and obviously tried to install a strap peg on one of the "horns" but I rescued it.
I bought it with the input jack scar still there and the hole still there from the botched strap peg incident, but I cleaned her up, gave her grover tuners, new humbuckers and now she is better than when I got her.
i love my guitars and all their imperfections.
it gives them character.

One of my best friends has an old Blue Ridge that he stepped on getting out of bed one day...put a nice little hole in the front , cussed for days and ended up covering it up with a sticker...this had to have been at least 8 years ago and I saw him playing it yesterday.

You ROCK !!!!
You have it goin' on when it come to making the most of your guitars. Love your attitude.
I have a 76' Les Paul Custom that went through living hell and was in pieces when I bought it. I got it fixed and its just fine. It will never sell for much (unless I can find somebody with far more money than common sense) but it plays and sounds great.
Hope you and 'the girls' can make bee-u-t-i-full music together for years to come.

I think guitars LOOK good 2 ways ... either like they're in mint condition, or like they've seen a few good tours in their times but as long as they still play the same it doesn't bother me too much what they look like [unless the guitar in question was hot pink ]
