i just bought a new bass!!!!well, it's used but came with bartolini pickups, a d-tunah on the tuners, and a bad a** bridge... it's an ibanez sr 390 4 string. it's sick. i'll get pics up asap

Luke, it is all about the drums. Yes, the DRUMS.
As a guitar player your natural timing/accent instict is to play with the snare drum. A GOOD bass player plays with the KICK drum. So DO THAT!
Listen to your records/tapes/cd's/MP3's and see how often those two hit together.

An old studio trick is to use a "side-chain" on the Bass compressor triggerd by.........drum roll please...........the KICK DRUM!

Things to look for in a bass player:
1) How well he/she gets along with the drummer.
2) Willingness to help set-up and tear-down everybody elses gear AND wind-up mic cables after the show.
3) The ability to produce pre-paid gas-cards whenever you need a fill-up.

it's the same body shape but not the same pickups and such. the one i have has a p bass style setup in it and not the same layout of the electronics... still haven't found any pics of it online yet
