 FX with acoustic guitars
Would stomp boxes sound good with a plugged acoustic? Like reverb and delay?

...even some chorus, i've found.
I haven't tried the crybaby, though... hmmmmm...

it's never too late. if they don't like it, kick 'em out. my kids have learned to shut up when "dad's in his cave" they know the guitars mean more to me than they do!!!!!!!!!!!! haha

effects on an acoustic might sound cool, cause you'd get a double sound, the direct sound from the acoustic itself, and the sound with the effects coming out of the PA/amp. I need to go give that a try now

I tried some out... here are the results:
tubescreamer - on the "hot" setting it pretty much wanted to make my acoustic expload. On the "vintage" setting it worked nicely with a mic'd-ish effect and added depth and gain to the sound.
phaser - sounded cool... gave the sound depth and sprinkled it up. Lost small amount of the sweet acoustic tone.
crybaby - sounded unique... it was a hollow sound but didn't offend me.
reverb - worked great.
tuner - hah.
octave - definitely a failed experiment. Not enough gain or presence to make the notes not sound like mush.
I'll run my acoustic through my KAOSS pad next to see what happens...
