Post Duncan Pickups?
Hey i just got an Epiphone Les Paul for Christmas which is pretty cool for me as a second guitar. But i've heard that it sounds much nicer with a set of new pickups in it. I play a bluesy/rock style and was wondering if perhaps these pickups : http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/humbucker/vintage/aph1_alnico_ii/ would be a much nicer sounding pickup for my guitar. Thanks for any comments and if i do change them could somebody give tips on how to do that, because i'd like to do it myself.

the Duncan JB in the bridge and a 59 or Jazz in the neck would be a great set for bluse/rock ....well, really they would be good for most anything.

i think Duncan sells them in a set.

Duncans are pretty beast mate!

any Duncan is worth the money

and DiMarzio's higher-end Evolutions are good too

Evolutions would be a bit overkill for blues rock, and are a bit too bassy to put in a Les Paul anyway... they're not ideally suited to playing rhythm etc. Great soloing pickups, although more so in a superstrat style body. If you want high output, the Breed combination would be more versatile, although you'd be better off with a set of PAF Pro pickups if you went along the DiMarzio line. With Duncans, the JB and 59 pairing is pretty much the standard combination... not personally my thing at all, but I know plenty of guitarists who get great tones out of their SDs!
