Post cleaning glue off of a guitar :(
The plastic round thing on the body of my guitar that the strap attaches to popped out, so i used some gorilla glue to glue it back in and after it dried i noticed that some glue had gotten on my guitar and dried.

Suggestions for removal of the glue?

The little knob that sticks out of the end of the guitar the guitar strap attaches to.

Really doesn't matter though.

How do i get glue off of my guitar without scratching it up?

ohh... the strap button. yeah, those are pesky buggers. what you might want to do is take like a screwdriver and CAREFULLY chip at it to get most of it off and then after that, sand it down to the finish

It has like a polyurethane coat on it, so if i sand it it will leave scratches.

your usually pretty safe using naptha to get anything off..unless the finish is really old and beat to hell then you might damage it...
but gorilla will just chip of in one piece... it is also activated by water so water will soften it up a little with just water...thats why I don't use gorilla glue..
good super glue is my main weapon...

next time this happens drill out the hole with a drill bit, then using wood glue insert the same size dowel rod..let dry.. re drill with the proper size bit for the screw and install your strap button
or stick toothpicks and super glue in there and just screw that sukker in there .

toothpicks and glue can fix almost anything ! Very Happy
isnt it amazing ? ....its almost macguyver like !

if we toss in a roll of duct tape and a few paper clips anything is possible.

still not as cool as the Six Million Dollar Man turning down jeep pistons to fit an airplane engine...using a pedal type stone wheel !!
i wonder what he used for piston rings?
Wink

Try Lemon Oil, and if that doesn't work, Goo Gone.
