Any Rack Junkies? I need an opinion and poll. Ideas people!
Ok fellow rack users...
The line 6 studio mods...
Delay Pro
Mod Pro
Filter Pro
Whats your thoughts? Why would line 6 just take, in my opinion, some of thier best equiptment *for racks* off the market? Would you use them? Besides Ebay any ideas where to find them???

it seemed to me that several years ago , a lot of rack gear turned into floor units ....i lost interest at that point
i assume it was the market ?
soooo ....i just stuck with my tried and true old stuff ...till a few weeks ago when i bought my Marshall power amp !
that baby breathed some new life into my tone.
i dont know much about the Line 6 stuff , but what i have heard has impressed me.
a lot of bang for the buck ...VERY versatile.

I'm not a Line 6 fan but those are some good pieces. The filter pro is definately interesting.

I have an ADA MP-2 tube pre-amp that has a few effects. It's tone is amazing!

are you looking for tube, or solid state ?
and how much power do you need ?
keep in mind you will need a lot more power if you go S/S over tube.

oh yea , i forgot to add something else ...
a tube amp will color and change the signal it is amplifing , while a S/S amp will just make the signal LOUDER.

Well I'm looking at starting a rack setup for live stuff now. I just got my Mark IV head yesterday (wewt!) so now I'm looking at rack pieces, so I'd probably be looking at tubed power amps. I was looking at the Mesa Boogie 50:50 or 20:20 but not sure, (as you know I am totally new to racks.) JUst looking for a nice power amp to deliver tight lows and good leads + nice fx unit + foot controller for everything.

well .....if you plan on using time based effects ( delay , chorus,reverb...ect ) , a heavily saturated ,overdriven power amp may not be the best choice ....look into something higher powered , with more "clean" headroom.
it usually sounds better if the effects are after your distorted poweramp.
i do say usually ..... it all depends on what you want tone wise .
if it sounds good ....it IS good

So that power amp would totally cancel out my power amp in my head right?

wait ....are you planning on using your Mesa with the rack system ....as in , you want a rack for effects, tuner, wireless, ect ?
or do you want everything in your rack ...preamp , effects , power amp ?

Well I love the tone that my Mark IV gives. So in the rack I was looking at FX,wireless system, probably a couple distortion pedal for shaping purposes, Rack Wah,tuner, then a big foot controller to stomp on that I can program different presets too. So I don't know if it is best to get all different rack pieces or to get a nice fx unit that would allow me to set presets to stomp on.
