Hey guys, I really need some help, am a big pearl jam fan and have just started to learn to play their songs, but i cant get my sound right. I have a epiphone les paul and a yamaha strat shape. I use a zoom g1x multi effects unit and a roland cube 30. Any ideas how i can get something similar to the pearl jam sound? Any help would be great.

what song are ya referring to. PJ tends to be just a guitar and amp band. Try you LP with the rhythm switch on, and run into your cube and use one of the light distortion settings. Now turn up the volume

hmm, try searching pearl jam sounds or pearl jam effects on google and go from there.

Sometimes effects pedals, although fabulous, can actually do so much to the sound that it is difficult to just get a natural simple one. I am not a master of effects pedals, but I do really enjoy Pearl Jam. In my opinion, they are using a type of tube amplifier, or something that sounds like a tube with the reverb on, as well as a type of distorsion, which again in my opinion can be achieved with a Pro Co Rat Pedal. Check it out in a music store for me and let me know if I was right.

the Rat pedal was a cool pedal I use to own one . when I got a good amp I gave it away to a good friend. Mess with the EQ also you can some times dial in the tone your looking for by just messing around with the Eq.

Yea, I'm thinking the problem is in the Zoom and the Cube. Probably more so the Cube.
