be careful. you'll probably cut the value of the guitar a lot

listen when i bought it last year it cost 500 dollars....the paint job that was on it..was done by somebody who did a half ass job....i bought it because it played and sounds awesome....i brought it to my personal guitar tech that night....he said it was worth keeping...the ebony fretboard was absolutely perfect.....he cleaned it up..inside and out.....when we redo it ...it will blow all those gibsons out the water....
he did a setup and a level and polish and stripped the gold off the hardware and pickups....and put sperzel locking tuners on it.....the value is not important cause it was already effected when i bought it used...so all we are doing is bringing it to a higher level than when it came out in 1992.....all dings we be smoothed out and the paint will be completely gone and repainted with a certain design i have in mind...and tone pro's locking tail piece for the gibson.....if i can get a pic up here soon i will show you what im talking about.

The question is....... if you can have a design or a certain color...What would you have done to it to make it stand out and make it your own.
The original value is not the issue here.

it would contain crosses... and the fretboard would be empty except for a cross marking the 12 fret

 Guitar Finishes
I've been playing around with carbon fiber under resin finishes for guitars. However, I've been doing finishing for a long time and still send my guitars to a professional. You could embed graphic images on to the surface of the guitar.

what kind of condition is the wood in underneath?
maybe consider doing a natural finish

i thought about that....the wood is just fine actually......i do want something i really think is sick....natural wood finish on a les paul ....does not do it for me....if it was an explorer that would be cool.....but i hate the pickguards they come with...in my opinion it ruins it

I usually pick out a theme, and go from there. One theme I did was a Harley themed flying V. I designed my own tribal chopper design for the guitar. I made it from parts left over from previous guitars.

hey thats a cool guitar! yeah i second the theme idea, like the guys do on American chopper with the bilkes, they all have a theme. how about your favorit superhero? i think a spiderman guiter would look cool! but not nessesarily the red and blue colours, maybe in black/grey/white with the web pattern. hmmm, i'm giving myself ideas here!
