I've got an Alvarez AD60SCBK and the strings keep breaking even when I tune back up to standard tuning. I've been tuning down to DADGAD for 'Drifting - Andy Mckee' lately, and a few times that I've tuned back up, a string breaks.

Anyone know anything to help?

are you using Elixir strings?

try giving your strings a nice stretch that should help a bit

stretching your strings will not help with string breakage.
if anything, stretching them too much or the wrong way will make them break easier.
