Post Something to play in betwwen songs
On thurdays in play my first gig/whatever in front of my school. If only in front of my year (250 people -ish + teahcers). It will be the first time i've played infront of a crowd of anysize (the most i've played to before if my class) If was wondering if you had any tips on something to play before/inbetween songs to keep the crowd alive. Nothing to hard, just a simple tune to get people exited.

The best thing to do is not play between songs at all. Just play the songs on your list the best you can.[/b]

If your guitar doesn't stay in tune between songs, you've got a serious problem that should be addressed by a qualified professional. If you are using any sort of standard or non locking tremolo, take the bar out until you can get a double locking Floyd Rose installed (Contrary to popular belief, it does NOT have to be an original Floyd Rose unit. I've recently used a licensed Floyd Rose that can withstand HEAVY abuse).

What kind of music will you be playing? What is it for?

Aside from re-tuning your guitar, keep as quiet as you can between songs.
Don't go giving the next song away either. It drives me crazy when peole do that.

If you really need to practice the intro to the next song, do it with your guitar turned all the way off.

Good luck, hope you get all the girls.

I meant more when going to drop d and stuff Smile
My guitar was going out of tune the other night though cos I had just got it back from the tech and it had new strings on. Had to keep checking between songs. Never had time to stretch the strings which was a bummer!
I use a telecaster with no trem and also a fender cyclone with the trem blocked. Only had the tele with me the other night tho.

don't play anything at all. keep your air of suspense. keep the crowd wanting more and more. and then, you give it to them and they are happy

this guy's right: the best thing to do between songs is just introduce the next song.

most of the time, audiences are there to hear the whole band, no one really cares to hear a guitarist wanking between songs.

the best thing to do is get a tuner with a bypass, so if you need to take a second to tune, the audience doesn't hear it. even a great guitar will go out of tune a little if you an "energetic" performer, like i am.
