It's a tube powered preamp in their acoustics. I really wish I knew more about it. The only thing to me, is that acoustics are already warmer sounding guitars, so I can't completely see wanting a tube in the preamp. Oh well, what do I know.

the amp and guitar companies are pulling our legs a bit.
preamp tubes in a preamp are not going to give us that "warm tube sound" ....they TELL us it will , to sell more product.
when you push a preamp tube it is buzzy sounding ...not fat and smooth like a pushed power tube.
i bet that if this preamp really sounds that warm and sweet , its not because of the preamp tube.
but guitarists LOVE to see the words "tube" or "valve" in a description , thats why all the solid state amps that claim to SOUND just like a tube amp have valve or tube in their name somehwere.
its all a gimmick.
of course , this is only my opinion ...i could be dead wrong about this new acoustic preamp.
i need to study up on it.

No, I think your completely right. Want to hear something crazy? Part of the reason (only part... I swear) that I bought my Carvin, was because it marketed itself as a desired amplifier tone, rather than "tube-like tone," "real-tube sound for a great value," etc. I liked the fact that they knew and claimed to have their own thing going, instead of just attempting to be a pale impersonation of a better amp. A solid state is a solid state, it is what it is. You can do a lot with solid-state, it just all depends on what you want to sound like ultimately. Marketing and advertising gets ridiculous, I agree fully.

YES INDEED ....you are so right.
i love the sound from my rack , and it has an ancient BGW soild state power amp ....it is perfectly clean, and loud as heck.
and honestly , i cant hear any "real tube" difference from the Marshall tube preamp (9001) VS the solid state Marshall preamp(9004) ....they both sound wonderful.
a solid state preamp with an overdriven tube power amp will sound the same as an all tube set up.
its the power tubes that make the "real tube" tone.
but that being said a great sounding solid state amp is still a great sounding amp.
if it sounds good ....it IS good.
i had a Marshall Valvestate head that sounded great ...not like a tube amp , but a tube amp dosent sound like the valvestate.
its all about what sounds good.

Exactly. All amps have their own voice and personality, regardless of what they are. There are significantly more good tube amps than solid state amps, but there are still good of both.
By the way, if you ever find out more about the cool tube, I'd love to know what exactly it does offer. I don't want to write it off just yet, if it in fact does do something cool or useful. Keep us updated.

i just checked out the website.
in my opinion...its a gimmick.
it might sound super nice , but its not because of a preamp tube.
but...if it sounds good .... it is good.
just not for the reason "they" tell you.
