I'm newly biased towards Ovations now, as they sound lovely when plugged in, however, if you have the budget for something else, I do also have a place in my heart for Martin's. Their newer ones seem a lot more fragile than the older ones though, which I'm not so sure is a good thing. My dad has a late 70's D28 and it's not only a tank but it sounds nice and fat, and has sustain for days.

i am a huge Ovation fan , they are my acoustics of choice....but there are SO many other great playing and sounding brands out there as well.
go play a lot of brands and models ....something will jump out at you.
buy what works for you.
the Larivee 's impressed me ...a LOT of guitar for your money.
i think spending $3000 on an acoustic in outrageous.
there are wonderful instruments out there for half or a quarter of that.

I completely forgot to mention my dream list acoustic: A Breedlove
They're... kind of hard to describe. Definitely try one if you get to a store.

they ARE sweet guitars indeed.
just a little out of my price range.
Gibson acoustics are incredible too ....but WAY too pricey for me.
Epiphone makes some great sounding affordable ones ....so does Ibanez.

i think they are great.
i think you can get a guitar that is just as sweet for a LOT less money.
in my opinion the Taylors,Martins,Gibsons of the world are WAY over priced.
they are fine instruments ....but so are a lot of other not so pricey brands.
its all what works for you , and what you can afford.
