Should I go with the fender or the G&l?
I plan on getting an american deluxe fender strat. But I heard about this other guitar called a G&L legacy. I know a lot about the strat but not so much the Legacy. What are the differences between them as far as pickups, type of wood, features etc. and which would suit my preferences more. I like to play alternative, grunge, blues, jazz, classic rock, hard rock, progressive, and metal. A few of my favorite bands are Pink floyd, Led zeppelin, U2, Rush, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Oasis, Coldplay, The Beatles, Audioslave etc.

make sure you get a good one that fits what you want. i have a friend who got one and i'll be honest, it sounds like plastic every time i hear it. and yes, plastic has a sound. it goes, tick tick, when you flick it

well... it could be the player and the amp and floor rig he runs.... crate tube amp but i'm not sure he really knows how to use it... and a vox tonelab floorboard. again, not sure if he knows how to match the two. i dunno, i don't like the tones out of that guitar when he plays it

OHHH ...ok
that makes sense.
the player has a lot to do with how any piece of equipment sounds .

eh, it's true. but i think the equipment plays a small part in that. even when i played it, i didn't get much out of it. but i actually used the neck pickup unlike him
