Post POD Vs. Guitar Port
So it's Christmas - Got a POD - Which is better for Home Recording: POD straight into the computer, or a Guitar Port (interface), or some kind of combo Question Question

I have pretty good sound cards, I don't get the delay alot of people complain about....Does that matter?

I also Upgraded my POD 2.0 to a XT. The X3 I heard isn't much of an upgrade from XT. I got it refurbished for 200 bucks. Not bad eh? And as far as recording goes, as long as you have a good sound card interface to plug your POD into and a decent recording tool, you'll be fine. Im currently plugging into a Soundblaster X-fi Elite into the external audio controller. I'm also using Acid music studio 7.0 for the actual recording/.VST controlling. I highly recommend that program by the way.

Heres a track I used my POD 2.0 on. Sounds pretty sweet huh.

i'm not sure exactly what pod you got, but i have a pod pro, it's one of the older ones. the pod pro has a recording output, and a normal output, i'm not sure if yours has those. the recording output sounds really good, like i'm micing an amp. i'm not sure if this was even what you're asking, or if this even helps, but oh well!

I think both are pretty solid options. First off, I will say that I have the POD and use it as a guitar port through my ProTools software on my PC. I find that for the money, you cannot find a better input system for PC recording software. That being said, the thing I like best about the POD is that there are limitless amounts of presets and tones you can download right from the Line 6 website. If you are looking for software that I think is even better than POD or guitarport, check out Native Instruments Guitar Rig 3. I found a quick review of it below: Basically this thing is way more customizable than the POD and has a very easy to use graphical display that is well suited for recording rather than live playing.
