Hi everybody!

I have a budget of around 500€ to buy a new guitar.

I'm hesitating between 2 guitars: Epiphone dot & fender telecaster

I'm wondering what the best buy is. If you say the telecaster, can you also specify which of the 2 would be best because I can't see a real difference between them.

I like that blonde looking telecaster, but it all depends on what style of guitar your going to be playing. I think it's going to be easier to setup that telecaster than that epiphone, but thats just my personal experience.

I think the blonde tele has nicer pickups, looks like a lot more 'real' (if that makes sense) other than the 'wine' tele. The wine looks a little more squier - esque.

choice is up to you bro, but I would get the blonde tele myself...then again i'm bias..I don't have a single tele in my collection

I'll give a little bit more info. I play rhythm guitar in a band. Check out our myspace if you want to check our sound. Don't be surprised the recording is bad... but it gives an idea of what we play. (http://www.myspace.com/lillyinthebasement).

I know the quality of the fender will normally be better. But the epiphone receives a lot of good reviews. As for the telecasters, the look doesn't really interest me. I'm a bit short on money so I would like to know if the pickups for example are really better on the blond one than.

pick ups are probably the same. if you can, go with the dot. you'll find you get more tone shaping out of that than the teles. it's a thicker sound as well

indeed and what about the sound / build quality and the playability of the dot?
