hmm, that guitar isn't the best for metal but it will do. and i think the amp will be fine too. you need to focus on just the basics right now until you get the feel of playing guitar. so start with a song that sounds simple and you think you can learn, and go with it. learn your basic chords and how they work too

many, many people i know started out with a fender squire. it's a good first guitar for many people, however, as somebody already mentioned, as your playing improves, you are going to want to upgrade to something with humbuckers if you want to play metal.

but what you have is good if you are just getting started. just play and play.

Special pickups that play the guitar for you.

They also cancel hum and typically can be made a little hotter to handle distortion better.

humbuckers were originally invented by Gibson: by putting two coils together, Gibson made a pick-up that didn't hum the way a single coil does.

important to you, to get the crunch, and the tone you want to play metal, you are going to want a guitar with humbuckers.

the guitar you have now will get you started, once you have played for a while, tell your local guitar guy you are looking to play metal, he or he will point you in a direction.

How do they "play the guitar for you"?
